Frequently Asked Questions

How many people can attend a class offered by Epicare?

Generally, for a lecture format, the number of participants will be determined by the size of the room available for the program. However, for classes that require return demonstration such as Crisis Intervention Certification, there is a limit of 25 participants. Likewise, for programs that encourage group discussion, such as Customer Service, it is usually more effective to limit the number.

How are programs "customized"?
Epicare feels strongly that programs offered to employees reflect the policies and procedures of the institution for which they work. Therefore, in the program planning process, Epicare will request copies of pertinent policies to incorporate into the program materials. For example, for pain management classes, we will request the following:
  • Pain Management policies and procedures
  • Pain Assessment tools and forms
  • A listing of the formulary pain medications
Can classes be offered on evenings, nights and weekends?

Yes, classes can be scheduled for the off-shift and weekend staff. However, we encourage institutions to carefully consider whether staff will be able to attend, given staffing conditions during those times.

Many of our staff are certified and would like to receive nursing continuing education contact hours. Are these offered?

Yes, Epicare Associates, Inc. is an approved provider of Continuing Education by the New Jersey State Nurses Association, Provider Number P195-5/07-10. Therefore, all programs can provide nursing contact hours.
